Saturday.

I went out on a carve and a 7.5, with Grant and Simon, we were finding it a bit marginal, but eventually we all got planing. Simon should have got his level 3, but the instructors didn't see him.

Emma did everything but beach start for her level 2, but this isn't a good location for beach starts.

I saw Sarah and others planing further downwind so I bore away and had a nice blast down toward them.

I was on the outside, and quite a way out, when I tacked, also mid way between Grant & Simon and Sarah and the rest.

Stupidly, I was a bit lacking in concentration, and I slipped off the board falling toward the mast. I caught my little finger on the boom clamp, and the rest of my hand disappeared under the boom. I dislocated my finger and gashed my elbow. I felt rather silly. I had plenty of time to suggest that I'd done it during a radical manouver, as I waited for the safety boat to come and get me, but I bashfully explained that it was a messed up tack....

Sarah, Emma, Lisa, Grant and Simon all took part in the regatta, and Grant won the freestyle. But alas for me my holiday was over.
